So I am told there are some things we must learn in order to keep up with the world. While I am very much an "old school" personality (ie. an old lady, to teh kids at our school), I am always up for a challenge. And for me, anything technological is a challenge. If it is not very user friendly, with directions spelled in detail, I am lost. But here goes... My first attempt at blogging.
I think the worst part really is trying to come up with an idea of what to blog about. I suppose it should be what I am interested in, but between work and a very busy family, there isn't much time left for hobbies. However, I do have one small obsession, and it's a good thing I work in a library to support it. I am quite fascinated with young adult literature (aka books for teens). So much so that I have started a teen book club at our library. We meet every three weeks and discuss a book we have all read. Sometimes it is a book I suggests, sometimes it is a book they suggest, sometimes it is a book that only one person has read but is just so excited about it they have to share. Which is the best part really, when you see a teen who is passionate about reading and not video games.
So maybe that is what I will use this space for, to tell you what has worked, and what hasn't, with our little book club. And maybe along the way, this experience will help me out of my comfort zone when it comes to technology. It could happen...
Awesome. I am looking forward to what books you recommend and also to finding out how you like the training :)
